Rodzaj Euphrasia L. w Polsce. Taksonomia i rozmieszczenie (Genus of Euphrasia in Poland. Taxonomy and distribution)

Ewa POSZ (2014): Rodzaj Euphrasia L. w Polsce. Taksonomia i rozmieszczenie. – Genus of Euphrasia in Poland. Taxonomy and distribution. – Instytut Botaniki Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego, Kraków, ss. 195.

The paper presents results of taxonomical revision of Euphrasia (eyebright) genus in Poland. Research (field work and herbarium study) was carried out in 2001-2013. The biometrical measurements of specimens and fenetic analysis were conducted and prepared in 2001-2005. Diagnosis based on biometrical research and the key to identity of Euphrasia species are provided in the paper. The authorial maps of species distribution and the list of localities for each species have been enclosed.

The main directions of Polish botanical and mycological studies of the terrestrial and fresh water ecosystems of Antarctica in 1977-2009

Piotr KÖHLER, Maria OLECH (2011): The main directions of Polish botanical and mycological studies of the terrestrial and fresh water ecosystems of Antarctica in 1977-2009 - Instytut Botaniki Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego, Kraków, ss. 77.

The paper describes the scope of Polish botanical and mycological research into the terrestrial and freshwater ecosystems of Antarctica carried out between 1977 and 2009. The investigations included floristics, taxonomy, biogeography, ecology, cytology, biochemistry, physiology, and genetics, and so forth. The main results of the research are briefly summarized and almost all the Polish literature of both the two branches of science is presented.

Współczesna dynamika, funkcjonowanie i przemiany krajobrazu Pogórza Karpackiego (Current dynamics, functioning and transformations of the Carpathian Foothills landscape)

Marian DRUŻKOWSKI (1998): Współczesna dynamika, funkcjonowanie i przemiany krajobrazu Pogórza Karpackiego. (Studium geoekologiczne w zlewni reprezentatywnej). - Current dynamics, functioning and transformations of the Carpathian Foothills landscape. (A geological study of a representative catchment). - Institute of Botany, Jagiellonian University, Kraków, ss. 285.

The paper discusses abiotic, biotic and anthropogenic components of the Carpathian Foothills landscape in the view of its dynamics, functioning and historical transformations. In 1976-1995 complex multidisciplinary natural studies were conducted in a small (12 km 2) and typical for the Foothills catchment of the Wierzbanówka Stream. The field studies were supplemented by data processing and literature studies concerning other parts of the Foothills and based on publications, manuscripts, cartographic and historical sources, and present aerial photographs. The landscape of the Carpathian Foothills is characterised by high material and anthropogenic factors is moderate at present. This is connected with a significant adaptability of its components and the adaptation of the Foothills to anthropopression that has been there for many hundred years. The present day agro-forestal and settlement function of the region's natural potential (topographic, climatic, soil and water). The paper gives also the variant forecasts of the foothills area changes and suggestions about the correction in the land utilisation.
